General FAQs

What is The Good Food Guide Club?
The Good Food Guide Club is a community for Britain’s most discerning diners. Membership to the Club is the only way to access The Good Food Guide, which is now published through our app. Additional perks include weekly news from the British dining scene, in-depth features about chefs and restaurateurs, and local guides from resident experts with their finger on the pulse.

Members of The Good Food Guide Club are encouraged to share feedback on where they’ve been dining. Their insight and recommendations are an integral part of the reviewing process.

How do I join?
To join the Good Food Guide Club, you can register here. Membership is £4.99 per month or £29.99 for the year.

Can I buy The Good Food Guide?
Evolving from an annual printed publication, The Good Food Guide now delivers trusted, impartial reviews in an app format, which is regularly updated and available via membership to the Good Food Guide Club.

The digital format ensures we keep pace with the dynamic nature of hospitality and bring the most up to date reviews and recommendations to our members. You can become a member here.

How do restaurants get into the Guide?
Every entry in the Guide is visited anonymously by one of our 30 expert inspectors stationed across the country. The long-list for potential entries is drawn up from the huge volume of feedback we receive from our discerning readers throughout the year. No establishment can pay for inclusion in the Guide and we never accept free meals in exchange for a review.

How does the scoring work?
Since 2022 every establishment included in the Guide has been assessed on its uniqueness, warmth, deliciousness and how strongly it would be recommended to friends and family. These metrics influence an overall rating of Good, Very Good, Exceptional or, in very few cases, World Class. You can read more about our ratings here
